Meet the team.

Behind O21 Modelling is Diego Rosado, a 23 year old mechanical engineer from Spain.

As a lifelong fan of motorsports, racing has been in my blood since day 1. During my time in university, I discovered my passion for 3D modelling and driving simulation programs.

Being a member of UC3M’s Formula Student program meant I was able to combine all the experience gathered in the team to develop MAD Formula Team’s digital twins in a driving simulator Assetto Corsa.

I had worked in the vehicle dynamics department before moving as the Head of the Driver in the Loop program, developing and correlating cars and tracks for driver training within the team. Being the first time such program was implemented in MADFT, auxiliary tools and procedures were created to maximise the useability of the digital twins.

During this time I was one of the drivers of the team, being able to experience first hand how the real vehicles and circuits felt in comparison with the simulator. My thesis focused on the creation and validation of said digital twins, obtaining a maximum score and a distinction.

Some of these digital twins were released to the public, gathering over 70 000 downloads and large recognition, which allowed me to collaborate with more partners for exciting projects, such as TCR Virtual and Virtual FSAA.

Can’t wait to discover what’s next.
